STATE v. THOMPSON

No. 42929-9-I.

967 P.2d 1282 (1998)

STATE of Washington, Respondent, v. Priestley THOMPSON, Appellant.

Court of Appeals of Washington, Division 1.

December 7, 1998.

Attorney(s) appearing for the Case

David Donnan, Washington Appellate Project, Seattle, for Appellant.

Seth A. Fine, Snohomish County Deputy Pros., Everett, for Respondent.

PER CURIAM.

Indigent offenders have a statutory right to counsel when they file an appeal "as a matter of right."1 A party may appeal an order denying a motion to vacate a judgment as a matter of right.2 Because Priestley Thompson is indigent and his appeal is one that is allowed as a matter of right, we reverse the trial court's order denying him his right to counsel at public expense.
