On January 3, 1996, appellant, Valerie Halbrook, and respondent, Greg Halbrook, were divorced. The divorce decree awarded Valerie and Greg joint legal and physical custody of their only child, Erica, born February 7, 1987. The custody arrangement provided that Erica spend half of each week with each parent.
