I. INTRODUCTION

After twenty-four years of marriage, Michael and Sandra Broadribb, both British citizens, divorced. Michael is a corporate executive and Sandra is a homemaker. In light of the length of their marriage and the discrepancy between the parties' earning capacities, the superior court awarded Sandra a greater share of the marital assets.
