Paul Yuan sued Ron Chow to collect on a promissory note signed by Chow. Chow joined Jesse Tam, claiming that he signed the note on behalf of Tam, who actually received the funds. The trial court granted summary judgment for Tam, ruling that the action against Tam was based on an oral promise or agreement, which was barred by the three-year statute of limitations.
