Defendant was convicted of murder and two counts of attempted murder. He was sentenced to a 40-year term for the murder conviction to run consecutive to two 30-year terms for the attempted murder convictions. In a prior, separate proceeding, codefendant, Antonio Silva, pled guilty to murder and two counts of attempted murder. After being convicted, defendant appealed.
