Roland J. Naquin was charged by bill of information on October 20, 1995, with simple burglary, a violation of La. R.S. 14:62, and with possession of stolen things worth more than $500, a violation of La. R.S. 14:69(B)(1). At his arraignment on November 6, 1995, he pleaded not guilty.
