The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) appeals the ruling of the Civil Service Commission of New Orleans (Commission), reversing the termination of Officer James Matthews (Matthews), and reducing his punishment to a suspension of sixty days. In this Court, the NOPD argues Matthews was a probationary employee, who was not entitled to have his termination reviewed by the Commission.
