When the G.H. Skala Construction Company failed to appear for trial, a bench trial was conducted in its absence and judgment was entered in favor of NPW, Inc. Skala Construction had not entered an appearance in the case. Alleging it received no notice of the trial, and that it did not appear on the advice of a person who was not a licensed attorney, Skala Construction filed a motion for relief from judgment.
