In this appeal we are asked to determine whether the family expense statute, RCW 26.16.205, imposes a child support obligation on a stepparent which is equal to that of the child's mother and father and which continues after the child leaves the family home. We hold RCW 26.16.205 is not a self-contained and autonomous child support statute. It may not be used independent of the standards, guidelines and schedule the Legislature has enacted to govern...
