On February 9, 1996, David Dale Adcock, Jr., a minor who had been transferred to the circuit court to stand trial as an adult, pleaded guilty in the Etowah Circuit Court to one count of manslaughter. He was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment. Adcock was incarcerated at Limestone Correctional Facility. On January 2, 1997, Adcock filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, seeking to have the Limestone Circuit Court order that he receive credit for 417...
