The defendant, Bertrand Stewart, was charged by bill of information with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of LSA-R.S. 14:95.1. Initially, he pled not guilty and filed a motion to suppress based upon an allegedly illegal stop, patdown search, and seizure. After a hearing, the motion to suppress was denied.
