CANNELLA, Judge.

Defendant, Marcus J. Jackson, appeals from a conviction of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and sentence to twelve years at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. For the reasons which follow, we affirm the conviction and sentence and remand.
