The defendant, Kirk M. Bell, was convicted of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, a violation of La. R.S. 40:967 A, and he was sentenced to 15 years at hard labor with credit for time served. Pursuant to a multiple bill filed by the state, the defendant was adjudicated a third felony offender. The trial court vacated the original 15 year sentence and imposed an enhanced sentence of life imprisonment without parole, probation, or suspension...
