MORRIS, Justice.

After a trial by jury, Juan Luis Cardenas appeals his conviction and life sentence for the murder of David DeLeon. He contends the evidence is legally and factually insufficient to prove he was the person who committed the murder. He also contends the trial court erroneously admitted out-of-court statements of a witness who died before trial. Finally, he claims he was denied effective assistance of counsel.
