On February 10, 1998, a state trooper in Montrose County stopped and searched a pick-up truck driven by Blaise Daverin, the defendant in this action. The trooper found a pipe and a small amount of marijuana in the passenger compartment of the truck, and subsequently discovered a significant quantity of marijuana in the truck bed.
