On February 21, 1996, Terry Douglas filed a complaint in the Tuscaloosa Circuit Court, naming as defendants Group V Investments, Inc. ("Group V"); Frank Gray; Ronnie Rice; and James E. Walsh, to collect on two promissory notes dated May 31, 1991, and June 4, 1991. Frank Gray was the president of Group V, and Ronnie Rice and James Walsh were two of the four shareholders.
