Elbert Max Sanders and Martha Burgard were divorced on June 29, 1992. The divorce judgment ordered Sanders to pay Burgard $160,000 as alimony in gross, to be paid in four payments of $40,000 each. The payments were to be made annually, with the first payment due on July 1, 1993, and the last payment due on July 1, 1996.
