The relator, National Car Rental System, Inc., filed a motion for summary judgment based on the rule in Louisiana that a self-insured car rental agency has the right to restrict the use of rental vehicles to "authorized users" and, therefore, cannot be held liable for accidents caused by unauthorized users.
