The defendant, Jerry Hammock, was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, a violation of La.R.S. 14:80, and was sentenced by the trial court to serve five years at hard labor. He appeals his conviction and sentence, asserting that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient to sustain his conviction and that the sentence imposed by the trial court is unconstitutionally excessive.
