We hold that Plaintiff-Appellant Alan Y. Takaki (Takaki) may not maintain an action for wrongful discharge in violation of a clear mandate of public policy, first recognized in our jurisdiction in Parnar v. Americana Hotels, 65 Haw. 370, 380, 652 P.2d 625, 631 (1982), because, with respect to his discharge, Hawai`i Revised Statutes (HRS) § 378-32 (1993) already evidences a public policy against terminating...
