The defendant, Larry Lavallier, was convicted by a jury of two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol (aggravated driving) (625 ILCS 5/11-501(d)(1)(C),(d)(2) (West 1994)). Each conviction involved a separate victim. He was sentenced to concurrent terms of six years' imprisonment and to pay restitution for medical expenses of $55,818.97 to John Pruett and $15,093.70 to Kalisa Brewer. On appeal...
