JAMES, Justice.

John Naasz shot and killed his estranged wife. He was indicted for murder and pleaded guilty. A jury heard evidence on punishment. In mitigation of punishment, appellant asserted he killed his wife under the influence of sudden passion arising from an adequate cause.
