The plaintiff experienced serious nerve damage to her right arm after surgery in which a pneumatic tourniquet manufactured and sold by the defendant was employed. She claimed that her injuries were caused by a malfunction of the tourniquet which caused it to apply higher pressure to her arm than the attending physicians intended. At trial, a jury determined that the defendant had not negligently designed...
