Christopher Ray Contreras was convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) and sentenced to the mandatory five-year imprisonment provided by the statute. He appeals the district court's denial of a sentencing reduction under the so-called Safety Valve, 18 U.S.C. § 3553(f)(5).
