MORRIS, Justice.

On a winter evening in 1992, Debra Orozco Tames and her young son, Christopher, were gunned down in their home by unknown gang members in retaliation for a murder allegedly committed by her brother several days earlier. The Orozco family sued the Dallas Morning News in negligence for publishing information indicating the location of their home.
