On July 9, 1994 a jury in the 19th Judicial District Court East Baton Rouge Parish, convicted the defendant, Ricky Joseph Langley, of first degree murder for strangling six-year-old Jeremy Guillory. The jury determined Langley should be sentenced to death, and he was so sentenced by the District Judge, the Honorable Fred Godwin.
