Rico Lamon Dunn ("Defendant") was charged with the March 30, 1996 second degree murder of Gary Nunsant ("Nunsant"), a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. As part of a plea bargain, the State agreed not to file a multiple offender bill and to accept Defendant's guilty plea to a responsive charge of manslaughter, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:31.
