Defendant was charged with two counts of assault with intent to commit murder, M.C.L. § 750.83; M.S.A. § 28.278, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, M.C.L. § 750.227b; M.S.A. § 28.424(2). Following a bench trial, defendant was convicted of two counts of felonious assault, M.C.L. § 750.82; M.S.A. § 28.277, but was acquitted of the felony-firearm charge.
