Defendant, Craig Sorenson, was charged by grand jury indictment with the second degree murder of Elvin S. Ware, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. Defendant withdrew his initial plea of not guilty and pled guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter under a plea agreement which also provided for a sentencing cap of twenty-five years for the manslaughter. Defendant was sentenced to twenty-five years in prison. Defendant has appealed, briefing two assignments...
