Petitioners filed a petition for writ of certiorari to review an order granting the state's motion to dismiss Maddox's notice of stay of proceedings filed pursuant to chapter 501, Florida Statutes. The issue before us is whether the trial court departed from the essential requirements of law by dismissing petitioners' notice of stay of proceedings filed pursuant to section 501.2091, Florida Statutes. We grant the petition.
