This case arises out of an automobile-pedestrian accident which occurred in West Point, Nebraska, in October 1992. The case was tried to a jury, which rendered a verdict in favor of appellee, Elwin E. Erickson. The case arises out of the same set of facts as its unconsolidated companion, Veskerna v. City of West Point, 254 Neb. 540, 578 N.W.2d 25 (1998). On our own motion...
