This matter arises out of a medical malpractice suit filed by the plaintiff/appellant against the defendants, the Board of Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund (Tulane), Roch B. Hontas, M.D., and Westpark Community Hospital. The district court on May 22, 1997, granted the defendants' motion for summary judgment on the issue of proper discharge instructions, but it denied the motion with regard to the issue of informed consent.
