Defendant was indicted and charged with the crime of murder in the second degree in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in the Village of Malone, Franklin County. Defendant subsequently pleaded guilty to the crime of manslaughter in the first degree in full satisfaction of the indictment and was sentenced in accordance with the plea agreement as a second felony offender to a determinate prison term of 21 years.
