SULLIVAN, Judge.

This case arises from a head-on automobile collision. The accident occurred on Louisiana Highway 182 near the St. Martin Parish—Iberia Parish border on April 18, 1994. Highway 182 is a two-lane rural highway with twelve foot wide travel lanes and eight foot wide paved shoulders on each side of the travel portion of the roadway.
