Appellant, Palamaltam C. Williams ("Williams"), entered a plea of not guilty to the offense of aggravated sexual assault. See TEX. PENAL CODE ANN. § 22.021 (Vernon 1994 & Supp.1998). He was convicted and the trial court assessed punishment at confinement for fifty years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice-Institutional Division.
