OPINION

ROSS, Justice.

Nicholas Johnson appeals from his conviction in a jury trial for the offense of aggravated assault. He pled true to the enhancement allegations of the indictment, and the jury assessed punishment at life imprisonment.

Johnson contends that the trial court committed reversible error by refusing to permit him to present evidence that would have aided in his defense and by admitting evidence that he had committed extraneous offenses...
