The defendant, Timothy Kyles, was charged by information with two counts of aggravated battery of two correctional officers (720 ILCS 5/12-4(b)(6) (West 1994)) and attempt aggravated arson (720 ILCS 5/8-4, 20-1.1(a)(1) (West 1994)). After a bench trial, he was found guilty of the two counts of aggravated battery and one count of criminal damage to property less than $300. He was sentenced to concurrent terms...
