On April 10, 1997, the appellant, Kennedy King, was convicted of first-degree robbery, § 13A-8-41, Ala.Code 1975. Pursuant to the Habitual Felony Offender Act, § 13A-5-9(c)(3), Ala.Code 1975, the trial court sentenced him to life imprisonment without parole.
