ABRAMS, J.

Charged with forcible rape of a child, the defendant, Ian George Pearce, was convicted of the lesser included offense of rape of a child under sixteen years of age. Based on the prosecutor's summation, the Appeals Court reversed the conviction and ordered a new trial. Commonwealth v. Pearce, 43 Mass.App.Ct. 78 (1997).
