In July 1996, defendant was the subject of a criminal indictment charging him with two counts of the crime of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He subsequently pleaded guilty to a single count of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree in full satisfaction of the indictment and all other charges pending against him in Albany County.
