In 1987, defendant Michigan Technological University (MTU) terminated the employment of plaintiff Kenneth Bracco. Plaintiffs filed suit, alleging numerous counts, but, following pretrial proceedings, were left with claims of age discrimination, breach of a just-cause employment contract, and deprivation of constitutional rights with respect to Bracco and a derivative claim for loss of consortium with respect to plaintiff Beverly Bracco.
