The appellant, Phillip Benford Terry, was convicted of trafficking in cannabis, § 13A-12-231, Code of Alabama 1975. Pursuant to the Habitual Felony Offender Act, § 13A-5-9, Code of Alabama 1975, he was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
