This consolidated appeal1 arises from the conviction of Defendant, Charles R. Jones, for first degree robbery, a violation of La. R.S. 14:64.1. For this conviction, the defendant was sentenced to forty years at hard labor without the benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
