Plaintiff, Lewis Kurtzman, brought suit against his former employer, Applied Analytical Industries, Inc., alleging, inter alia, breach of an employment contract. On 1 June 1995 a jury returned a verdict in plaintiff's favor and awarded him $350,000 in damages. Defendant moved to set aside the verdict or, in the alternative, for a new trial.
