Defendant Joe Wesley Hunt was tried capitally on an indictment charging him with the first-degree murder of Linda Scott ("victim"). The jury returned a verdict finding defendant guilty as charged. Following a capital sentencing proceeding, the jury recommended a sentence of life imprisonment; and the trial court entered judgment accordingly.
