During the trial of this personal injury action the court was required to interpret the meaning of the "written acknowledgement" prior notice provision of the New York City "Pothole Law" (Administrative Code of City of NY § 7-201 [c]). Written acknowledgement by an agency other than the Department of Transportation has never been approved by any court in this State.
