On April 30, 1993, defendant, Eric Robles, was indicted on 10 counts of first degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9—1(a)(1) (West 1992)) and 2 counts of solicitation of murder for hire (720 ILCS 5/8—1.2 (West 1992)) for the stabbing deaths of his parents, Peter and Diana Robles.
