Ofelia Renteria and two codefendants who later pleaded guilty were charged in June 1995 with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and one count of distribution of cocaine. The charges arose out of the sale of almost a kilogram of cocaine to Cora Mae Woods, a drug dealer who attempted to resell the cocaine to a government informant.
