KATZ, J.

The defendant, the commissioner of revenue services (commissioner), appeals from the judgment of the Appellate Court dismissing his appeal for lack of a final judgment.1 We conclude that the trial court did render a final judgment in this case, and, therefore, the Appellate Court's dismissal was improper.
