In this appeal we must determine whether the trial court had the authority under Pa.R.Civ.P. 218(a) to enter a judgment of non pros against the plaintiff when she failed to appear for an arbitration hearing. We hold that Pa.R.Civ.P. 218(a)1 which authorizes a trial court to enter a judgment of non pros when a plaintiff fails to appear for trial is inapplicable...
